Hi, I'm a learning and development (L&D) professional with over 20 years experience working across government, community and the private sector. For the past 15 years I've specialised in working with regulatory agencies, designing and implementing experiential learning and development programs to build capability and generate positive growth.
Like a lot of people, L&D is not my first career. I came in through the 'back door' when I discovered that I have a real passion for helping people and organisations to learn and grow.
In my first career I worked as a professional musician. I've been a musician for pretty much all my life . I did the typical piano lessons throughout my childhood.. Then moved onto electric bass when the guys in a share house I was living in handed me a bass and said 'we need a bass player'. From there I studied Jazz at the NSW Conservatorium of Music, added a double bass into the mix and played professionally for 10 years. Then a bit of life happened...and I made the career change into learning and development. Now I play with community orchestras here in Melbourne.
Being a learning and development professional, a musician and an academic researcher gives me a unique ability to create learning and development solutions that fosters collaboration and self-leadership, generates positive growth and plays a positive role in the organisations rhythm and harmony.
